Artist Statement

This Stacked series is on 22” x 15” paper using acrylic paints and graphite. My intention is to explore ways in which I put order into my life while trying to hold the many facets of experiences, feeling and thoughts at the same time. In this series I explore relationships ways I balance freedom with chaos. By putting down one layer at a time, I then respond by creating another layer. In this way, I trust in my intuition and let it lead me step by step in my art and life.
